Tonal Landscape Drawing in Chalk + Charoal

Previos Post

This drawing was made with white chalk and a few odds and ends of charcoal (some Nitram, compressed charcoal pencil) on toned Canson Mi-Teintes paper.

This is a great way to get a study or idea for a landscape down quickly; work with big shapes and focus on tonal relationships rather than detail – selective rendering works better than finishing everything to the same level of detail.
